Housing and Development

Housing Construction photo
Since its inception, Gateway Community Action Partnership has participated in dozens of construction, rehabilitation and renovation projects in an effort to bring vitalization and services to the Cumberland, Salem and Gloucester County regions. Combined, these projects total millions worth of spending and have resulted in employment opportunities for hundreds of local residents both during and after the projects’ completion.
These projects represent a cross-section of buildings including: Head Start Centers, Early Learning Centers, housing facilities, administrative/commercial office buildings and a banquet center
and conference facility.
Gateway was given the Governor’s Housing Award for Excellence
in Housing in both 1995 and 1997. The Parvin’s Branch Townhouses were the focus of the award in 1995 while all of Gateway’s projects, including the HUD 202 Spring Gardens Senior Housing project, were cited in 1997.
All of these projects have enabled residents to have access to services necessary for improving the quality of life and obtaining self-sufficiency.
Gateway's recent housing developments include Mill Creek Crossings and River Grove Apartments, both in the Southeast Gateway neighborhood in Bridgeton.
